ST. VINCENT'S COAST

As a result of it’s location, with a variety of sceneries and a reduced influence of man, this coastline boasts a very rich natural patrimony whose preservation, alone, justified the creation of the Natural South West Park of the Alentejo (Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano) and the Vincent’s Coast, or Costa Vicentina as it is known in Portugal. Cliffs, beaches, dunes, coastal woods, heaths and river valleys are but a few of the habitats for a vast flora and fauna. The area is undoubtedly one of the few coastal zones in the whole of Europe, where man’s presence is almost unfelt, in contrast with nature that is omnipresent in it’s various forms. We suggest a trip to this area, which is considered one of the most beautiful and unspoilt in Europe.
